Starbucks 2009 Planner and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Notebook

Last week, I was able to complete the requirements for two of the "must-have" items this holiday season.

First is the annual planner Starbucks is giving away once you complete the stickers in their cards. You need 8 drinks from their normal menu plus 8 more drinks from their Christmas menu to complete the set. Here's an image I borrowed from Coffee and Blunder of the Starbucks 2009 Planner:

The other item is the Artist Notebook from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. You need to buy 12 drinks from CBTL of varying types (ice blended, hot, etc.) in order to complete the set. Once you complete a card, you get to choose one Non-Government Organization (NGO) to donate proceeds from the 12 drinks you bought. Each NGO has its own distinct advocacy. I chose this design for my notebook:

While Starbucks and CBTL came up with nice promotions, the impact of the global financial recession was felt. Other coffee shops that used to have these promos stopped. Heck, Starbucks kinda "downgraded" its planner.
